The recent price hikes with regards to premium TV packages have probably got the most hardcore media consumers thinking about switching to far-cheaper streaming services, but there's a cracking deal at the moment which means that you may not have to.
Freesat uses your existing home satellite dish to beam the latest broadcasts to your TV, and the best part is that it's free to use.
That means no nasty monthly bills or long-term contracts tying you down. If that sounds decent to you, then all you'll have to do is splash out on a new set-top box to be able to access all of your favourite films and TV.

The Mirror reports that although these devices can be pretty pricey, there's currently an alluring discounted deal which makes the switch that little bit cheaper. The firm is running a spanking new promotion which knocks £30 off a 500GB device - which is armed to record hours of TV and allows users to pause, rewind and play until their heart's content.
With 170 channels to surf and binge, there's plenty of variety included - although the one setback is that you can't watch premium services like Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and BT. But if those don't sound like complete deal breakers, then be sure to act fast to save the extra money.
Freesat have confirmed that the deal only runs until April 21, before the usual price of £229.99 is reinstated. You can find the discount on Freesat's website, but other retailers including Currys are also running the discount.
Not to be outdone though, BT and Sky are both also currently running promotions. BT is dishing out Sky channels as well as Netflix for just £1 in a deal lasting for the first six months of the 24-month contract.
New customers and existing punters who consume broadband from the ISP can take advantage of the offer.
Sky on the other hand have launched a discounted deal on its Stream box plus broadband and TV channels. You'll pay just £38 per month as opposed to the usual £44 for this one. The upside of using Stream is that you don't need a dish to watch anything, as all is delivered via the internet.
