As Washington Commanders defensive end Chase Young prepares for his fourth NFL season, he held his second annual youth football camp Saturday behind iconic RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.

Young started his youth football camp last summer, which was held at the Commanders’ practice bubble.
“I was that kid…just trying to make it to the NFL one day,” Young said last year, per Zach Selby of commanders.com. “I want them to know that they are the next thing coming up. It is possible. You can do it. And a few of these kids might be in the league.”
Young has been in the news this year after the Commanders declined to pick up his fifth-year option for 2024. Now, Young will be a free agent after the upcoming 2023 season, along with fellow defensive end Montez Sweat.
Young’s lack of production over the last two seasons, in combination with the serious knee injury he suffered in 2021, led Washington to decline the option. Head coach Ron Rivera cited Daron Payne’s performance in 2022 as the template he hopes Young follows in 2023, which would presumably lead to a lucrative offer to remain with the Commanders.
The Commanders begin training camp on July 26.
