Chase Elliott has been named NASCAR's most popular driver for the seventh year in a row at the season-ending awards ceremony. The award, determined solely by fan votes, saw Elliott receive 266,363 votes, surpassing his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson and Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney.

Elliott comes from a family with a rich history in NASCAR. His father, Bill Elliott, known as “Awesome Bill from Dawsonville,” holds the record for winning the most popular driver award 16 times before withdrawing his name from the ballot.

Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of fans across the country, Chase Elliott acknowledged the significance of the award and the loyal fanbase that has been instrumental in his success. He emphasized the importance of upholding the family legacy and the hard work that preceded his own career in NASCAR.

Despite the competition, with drivers like Blaney and Larson in the mix, many in the NASCAR community believe that Elliott's popularity is unmatched and that he is likely to retain the title for the foreseeable future.

The awards ceremony, held in Charlotte for the first time, marked a departure from previous host cities such as Las Vegas, New York, and Nashville. The event brought together drivers, teams, and fans to celebrate the achievements of the past season and honor standout performers in the sport.

With a legacy that spans generations, the Elliott family's impact on NASCAR is undeniable. From Bill Elliott's storied career to Chase's continued success, the most popular driver award serves as a testament to their enduring influence on the sport.

As NASCAR looks ahead to the upcoming season, fans can expect more thrilling races, fierce competition, and the unwavering support that defines the sport's passionate community.
