Charlotte Dawson has found herself inundated with support from fans after she opened up about being 'targeted' on social media. The reality star, who is the daughter of late comic Les Dawson, shared an emotional video on Instagram to talk about the serious ordeal.
In the video, Charlotte broke down in tears as she revealed she's being viciously trolled by someone who anonymously reported her to social services with false claims. The Ex On The Beach star detailed the extent of her ordeal where she confirmed she is now getting a private investigator and the police involved after the lengthy abuse from one person.
Speaking to camera in the video filmed in her home, Charlotte said: "Hi darlings! Sorry, I've got croissant on my mouth and Noah has scratched my eye. I have been absolutely terrorised by my toddler and I look an absolute mess right now. Only because I have actually been going through hell and obviously I've not put a lot on Instagram because it's all to do with Instagram.

"Obviously, I put something on the other day about somebody trying to ruin our lives and obviously I'll tell you all when I'm ready and I do feel like I'm a little bit more readier now to talk about it. I've had this one person for a while now, probably like a year, maybe two years constantly stalking me, sending me messages all the time, nasty messages every single day about, you know, the way I look, what I'm doing, how I'm parenting, you know, what me and Matthew are doing.
"Even my sister who lost her husband who tragically killed himself, she gets messages about, about him, about what she's doing. My mum gets messages, I get messages about my dad's side of the family, nasty messages about everything that you could imagine. There's just no need and people know absolutely nothing about."
Charlotte shared upsetting details about how she is being targeted. As well as messages, she said how the individual constantly sets up new accounts with various different images as the profile photographs - including of her late father and his ex widow, Meg. She also said the extent of what she has been going through has made her consider quitting social media altogether.
"So this is meant to be a place where I work, I talk to you all, I show you all my life, I open up to all of you and obviously that is that is what I do," she continued. "I love doing it. I've been doing it for a few years. I love being on TV. I love being on stage. I'm just that type of character but when you get this type of trolling, it really does knock you and it makes you not want to be on Instagram anymore. It makes it a horrible place.
"And so it makes social media a horrible place. It's not just Instagram, the other social media sites but I mainly use Instagram and it just makes you not want to be on it. It makes you just wanna come off everything. It makes me want to actually not work anymore. It makes me want to go and get a normal job, like, not a normal job. I mean like a nine-to-five job or something like that.
"But I love what I do, I'm good at what I do. I don't want to let these people win, it's just absolutely horrendous. Like, I'm not even going to mention the name of that website that needs absolutely shutting down."
Charlotte then got particularly upset when she revealed someone had made an anonymous phone call to social services with false claims about her parenting of her 19-month-old son, Noah. Sharing the video with her 1.3m followers, Charlotte penned: "Don't even have a caption for this… but this what we have been growing through the last few weeks.
"As new parents trying there absolute hardest to be the best we can be for our son we don’t need evil things like this coming in our way. This is just too far now. Not letting this weirdo or weirdos win anymore. At the end of this video you will see only a short snippet of the messages.
"But I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who send nothing but love and support to us everyday, your messages don’t get unnoticed & We appreciate you all.. Fun fact I gave birth to Noah in this nighty. Ps my speakers broke so that’s the annoying sound."
Charlotte's post was quickly racking up the comments including from her celebrity pals. Corrie's Brooke Vincent said: "Oh Babe!!!!!" with a red heart emoji. Darby Ward commented: "Breaks my heart…You are the best mummy and beautiful person who doesn’t deserve a second of this!!!! Love you guys, sending our love".
Former Big Brother winner Kate Lawler replied: "So sorry this is happening to you babe. Get the police on it as soon as possible if you haven’t already. Sending you all so much love."
Charlotte has since returned to Instagram to thank people for their support. "Honestly blown away from all the love support & lovely messages I’ve received from my video.. it wasn’t easy doing that but I felt it was the right thing to do.." she wrote. "Now let’s find this vile evil human love you all.."
She shared her updated message alongside a video, showing she hasn't let what's going on dull her humour. "I wasn’t gonna do makeup Mondays but chuff it I am .. n I thought this video was funny it made me laugh so hopefully it makes you lot laugh," she said. The clip showed her posing in full glam before joking about being a 'catfish' while appearing make-up free with her hair in a messy bun.
