Charlotte Crosby thanks boyfriend Jake Ankers for 'completing my whole life' in sweet New Year post

Charlotte Crosby has thanked her boyfriend Jake Ankers for being her "sunshine in a dark year" in a heartwarming New Year post.

The former Geordie Shore star, 32, recently spent her first Christmas as a mam after she and Jake welcomed their daughter Alba Jean in October. Charlotte looked back over her life-changing year in a sweet video montage on Instagram along to the Jaymes Young song Happiest Year, showing clips of a positive pregnancy test, holding baby Alba in hospital, and a romantic surprise Jake had planned for her where their bedroom was filled with red balloons, as well as moments of the couple dancing together and pulling funny faces.

Charlotte wrote to her boyfriend alongside the video: "Thank you @jake_ankers you've truly completed my whole life. My sunshine in a dark year.

"My rock. My soulmate to many more hopefully happier years," she went on in the heartfelt message. "I love you."

Jake replied in the comments section: "Awwww Charlotte I can't thank you enough for coming into my life, you are truly such an amazing woman! What a year we have had!!

"And most importantly of all, you have given me little Alba," he added. "I'm a very very lucky man and I love you so so much. P.S. stop stealing all my clothes."

While the new parents had cause to celebrate in 2022 as they welcomed baby Alba, it was also a difficult year for Charlotte as her mam Letitia was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she lost her Nana Jean in November. Charlotte paid a moving tribute to her "light of my life" Nana, who she named her daughter after, at Christmas as she shared a montage of their fond memories together.

Focusing on happier times, Charlotte also posted a throwback snap of her and Jake looking very different back on New Year's Eve in 2015. Saying New Year celebrations are "kinda our thing", the star mused: "I wonder what we would have said if someone had told us back in 2015 we would be together with a baby in 7 years."

Charlotte is set to star in a brand new BBC series this year called Charlotte in Sunderland, which will follow the star during her pregnancy "as she pursues her personal and professional dreams in her beloved hometown, whilst juggling the stresses of running her businesses and preparing for motherhood with boyfriend Jake".

The series will land on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer on February 1, meaning fans don't have long to wait until Charlotte's return to the screen. Charlotte previously confirmed that the birth of her baby would feature in the documentary, which promises to show the star "as she has never been seen before".

Speaking back in June when her new series was first announced, Charlotte said: "I am beyond excited to be bringing my crazy life, my business ventures, much loved family, future hubby and my precious bump to the BBC! I hope everyone's ready for the ride ahead!"
