Charlotte Church's new Welsh country retreat is now open for bookings with prices starting at £150 a night

Charlotte Church's Welsh wellness retreat, The Dreaming, is finally taking bookings for those who want to bath in a moon-shaped bath, unwind in a 'womb room' or simply relax and take in the natural surroundings of idyllic Rhydoldog House, the former home of designer Laura Ashley.

Charlotte, whose renovation of the house has been documented on Discovery+ channel's My Dream Build, has revealed that she became "obsessed" with the Elan Valley property, which she bought for £1.5 million and has now opened the doors for visitors to book in, with prices starting at £150 per night, for one person. As of the time of publishing the first weekday retreat available is in February 2023, with weekend retreats available. With inclusivity at its heart, The Dreaming also offers a pay-what-you-can scheme for potential visitors.

There's a choice of seven rooms, each with their own theme and luxurious decor. The Moon room, for two, is made using natural fabrics and an en-suite bathroom with a moon-shaped bath overlooking the Moon Garden. The Womb Room is a 'celebration of womanhood' with soft-flowing fabrics and a playful ensuite with a pink tadelakt (Moroccan plaster) shower. And the sophisticated Forest Spirits room tips the cap to Japanese culture and overlooks ancient woodland. Other rooms on offer include The Wanderer, the Mystic, The Dawn and The Mushroom.

Outdoors, the several gardens incorporate permaculture market gardens, a medicinal herb garden and responsible horticulture, there's also the outdoor Waterfall Shower where guests can immerse themselves in a natural shower from a carefully constructed, eco-sensitive, wooden platform.

Charlotte Church at Rhydoldog House (Really)

Speaking about her discovery of Rhydoldog and her vision for the retreat, Charlotte explained: "[I was] awestruck by the wonder of it: the vibrant energy of the land; the epic depths of the forests; the mythic fantasy of waterfalls and rocks and caves; the nourishing, life-giving water, seeping from every nook and cranny. I had no idea what a big part of my life it was going to become. It put me in a spin. I was obsessed, insatiable, like a lovesick teenager. An inescapable vision of an integrated healing centre in line with my most deeply held values filled my waking hours, and even entered my dreams.

"And so with my baby on my breast in February 2021 I signed a piece of paper that tied my life savings to the bricks and mortar of Rhydoldog House, which set me upon a journey that has completely changed my life, and continues to do so. If you allow it to, The Dreaming could change your life too."

The singer, who also founded the Awen Project, a community-focused education programme, hopes that visitors to The Dreaming will find a 'place for healing through experiencing beauty and wonder.'
