Charlie Patino has bid an emotional farewell to Arsenal supporters on social media.
Patino progressed through the Gunners' youth-team after he joined the club in 2015 at the age of 11 but would only go on to play two times for the Premier League side.
After productive loan spells at Blackpool and Swansea, Patino has joined Deportivo on a permanent deal and signed a four-year contract with the Segunda Division club.
The deal also includes a significant sell-on clause for Arsenal, who will profit in the future if the 20-year-old is sold.
Taking to Instagram following confirmation of his move to Spain, Patino wrote: “Dear Arsenal fans.
“Firstly, I just want to say thank you for all the amazing memories that I have had at this historic club. It has been an honour to represent Arsenal on and off the pitch.
“I joined the club when I was 11 years old with a dream of one day making my debut for Arsenal. I was fortunate enough to make my dream a reality and for this I will always be grateful.
“Thank you to the fans, team mates, coaches and everyone associated to the club. Best of luck for the future!!”
Patino had been tipped for big things at Arsenal and joined their academy in 2015 at the age of 11 from Luton Town.
He shone at youth level and scored on his senior debut for Arsenal in 2021 during a 5-1 win over Sunderland in the Carabao Cup.
