Arsenal starlet Charlie Patino's future appears to be away from the Emirates Stadium.
Patino enjoyed a successful loan stint with Blackpool during the 2022/23 campaign before the Gunners activated a two-year option in the player’s contract. But it appears that this was merely a tactic to protect the club financially from an exit in the near future, with The Athletic reporting back in May that the Gunners were open to facilitating the youngster’s summer departure.
The talented midfielder is said to be keen to seek stability with a permanent role next season given he is unlikely to get consistent game time with Arsenal. football.london has come to learn that it is very much a timing issue that has befallen Patino.
With the Gunners looking to close the gap on Premier League champions Manchester City, they cannot offer him the minutes needed for his development. Now, the 19-year-old has taken to Instagram, posting a picture of a pool at the club's London Colney training base.
That would of course suggest that he was not included as part of Mikel Arteta's squad that has travelled to Germany for a pre-season training camp. It remains to be seen where exactly the Watford-born starlet's future lies, watching on as three fellow Hale-End academy graduates made the trip to Herzogenaurach.
