Remember Charlie Bit My Finger? That insanely viral video that everyone’s mum would get a chuckle over. Well, the family is about to take it off YouTube to be sold as an NFT so get that bread Charlie, I guess?
The viral vid will be taken off YouTube today, and sold as an NFT because the Davies-Carr family are unable to engage with fans on the video platform. According to them, comments are turned off as YouTube has set the video to ‘made for kids.’ The Family have tried appealing to YouTube to get the setting removed, but these appeals have been rejected.
“I have tried to get engagements levels back to where they were but no one from YouTube will speak to me,” the family wrote on YouTube.
“We helped YouTube grow and embraced it early.”
“We are now moving onto the next exciting thing.”
The next thing being a new video of the boys today, featuring the highest NFT bidder .

“The NFT winner will have the opportunity to create their own parody of the video featuring the original stars, Harry and Charlie. Star in it yourself, or give the honour to the biggest Charlie Bit My Finger fan you know, and recreate a hilarious modern-day rendition of the classic clip.”
The auction has already begun and as I type this, there is only six hours left to bid. The current highest bidder is MEMEMASTER who has already pledged $22,222 GBP. Wow, that’s a lot of mullah.
Today, also marks the 14th anniversary of Charlie Bit My Finger. The video took the internet by storm in a time when internet memes were only just beginning to emerge. The Davies-Carr family claim that the video is still the most viewed video that isn’t a commercial or music video on YouTube.
The video currently has 882, 974, 571 views, but it won’t be long until that number disappears forever.
