Former broadcaster Charlie Bird has issued a major update on his final bucket list item in life, the possibility of meeting legendary American Bruce Springsteen.
The Motor Neuron Disease (MND) sufferer and advocate previously told his fans that despite his declining health, he hoped to meet his musical idol, who he hopes to have one of his song's played out at his funeral.
The 73-year-old previously stated: "On my bucket list I said I would love to meet Bruce Springsteen, I have no idea if that will happen."

Fans were concerned on Monday, when the former RTÉ journalist revealed that he had "a bad fall" out walking and was rushed to A&E. However, he said: "Still hoping I will get to meet Brucie even with a bloody face."
Now that dream looks set to be realised, he told fans this Wednesday evening. Posing for a snap with country music legend Daniel O'Donnell, Charlie said he had some "great news" in spite of suffering a fractured cheekbone.
"I met my great Pal Daniel today. Also so delighted that I lit a candle for frontline works. Great help today from them at Michaels and Vincent’s AE. Yes I have a fractured cheek bone. But I also got great news.
"That other wish on my bucket list is going to happen this weekend," he wrote on Twitter.
Earlier today Bruce was pictured meeting Pogues frontman Shane McGowan, and it looks like Charlie may get to meet his musical idol after all, who is set to play three nights, Friday, Sunday and Monday at the RDS Arena in Dublin.
Charlie previously said of the American singer-songwriter: "I want ‘Land of Hope and Dreams to be played at my funeral. This is mad , but I go to sleep nearly every night playing this song, along with ‘The Parting Glass."
Social media followers rallied behind the Climb with Charlie organiser, saying they were delighted to hear the great news, with many wishing him a speedy recovery on his facial injury.
"Ah Charlie I’m delighted that you’re going to meet Bruce, continued recovery to you," one person wrote, while another said: "Charlie I am so happy for you (but never doubted it would happen)."
