Charli XCX teases song for Barbie movie with cryptic TikTok and Instagram posts

Charli XCX has teased a collaboration with the upcoming Barbie film through a series of cryptic TikTok and Instagram posts.

The singer has been dropping hints about her new music in the wake of her Coachella debut last weekend. In a caption of an Instagram post thanking her fans, she said her performance was the “final show of the crash era”, in relation to her best-selling album of the same name released last year.

She added: “rip main pop girl, I buried her alive.” Now, she has created a new private Instagram account, @360_brat, which has 30 posts already but zero followers.

Charli has not announced any further details about the account. Fans will be hoping that this is the start of a new album or project by the singer.

Furthermore, her TikTok account of the same name has posted a teaser of a remix of the Barbie Girl. Producer A.G. Cook was spotted playing a similar remix earlier this month.

These two announcements have led to speculation that the unreleased track could be part of the highly anticipated Barbie film this summer starring Margot Robbie and Ryan gosling. One fan commented on the TikTok clip: “Charli XCX on Barbie movie soundtrack lets goooooo.”

Another added: “Tired of nostalgia samples but if anyone was gonna do this song I’m glad it’s Charli.”A third added: “Come on Charli let’s go party.”
