Princess Diana's younger brother has broken his silence after failing to attend his daughter's wedding.
Charles Spencer was not present at the ceremony in South Africa yesterday which saw Lady Amelia, 30, tie the knot with fiancé Greg Mallett, 30.
He was also absent when his eldest daughter Lady Kitty married retail millionaire Michael Lewis in Rome in July 2021.
It sparked rumours there may have been tensions between the father-of-seven and his children from his first marriage.
The Earl posted a photo from the Althorp estate on Twitter this morning, writing: "Early morning March light, at Althorp’s Round Oval lake."
He also shared a video showing animals on the lake, writing: "Duck, geese, swans - and, in the distance, coots and moorhens. Early morning life on the lake, at @AlthorpHouse."
Lady Amelia and her twin sister Lady Eliza posted plenty of snaps over the weekend as they started wedding celebrations before the big day at the La Cotte Farm venue.
The bride-to-be was wearing a slik halterneck white gown, while her groom was in a white shirt and blue trousers.
The couple, who have been together for 11 years, exchanged kisses next to a pool in a series of photos shared on Instagram.
Greg wrote: "You'll never not make me laugh. And I will never stop looking at you in awe."
He added a red love heart emoji and tagged his new wife who re-shared the post.
Guest Jacinta Spencer, who is not related to the bride, posted a photo of Lady Amelia standing on the terrace with the sun behind her.
She wrote: "The most beautiful pre-wedding reception for you. I love you with all my heart."
The happy couple have previously attended several other weddings at the same exclusive venue.
However, Earl Spencer, 58, was not present in any of the pictures.
Lady Kitty, meanwhile, was walked down the aisle by her brother Louis Spencer, 29, and half sibling Samuel Aitken in absence of her father.
Lady Amelia's mum Victoria Aitken was also not in yesterday's photos but was reportedly included on the guest list for Lady Kitty's wedding.
A source told MailOnline at the time: "Kitty and Charles were very close when she was growing up, but their relationship has cooled and been more distant since his marriage to his third wife Karen in 2011.
"Charles recently suffered an injury and perhaps that will be the reason for him not travelling, but it is just easier for everyone that he is not there.
"The four children are all close to their mother Victoria and get on well with their step siblings, and their Spencer aunts and have forged their own relationships with one another without needing Charles to bind them together."
Charles and Victoria were married between 1989 and 1997, moving to Cape Town where Kitty, Eliza, Amelia and Louis were raised.
The Earl moved back to the UK shortly after their divorce was finalised, coinciding with the death of his sister Diana.
He went on to marry Caroline Freud in 2001 and then Karen Spencer in 2011.
