Charles Cross named Seahawks’ secret superstar from the 2024 season

Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Charles Cross was the team’s lone steadying presence on the offensive line throughout the 2024 season. A franchise left tackle, Cross was a reliable blocker for starting veteran quarterback Geno Smith. Unsurprisingly, he’s being showered with offseason accolades and recognition.

Pro Football Focus recently compiled a list of every team’s “secret superstar” from the 2024 season. The idea was to identify underappreciated talents who fly under the radar, comparing their seasons to wider discussion. PFF named Cross that player for Seattle.

“Seattle’s offensive line was, unfortunately, a turnstile for most of 2024, but Cross was a neutralizer at left tackle,” Bradley Locket wrote. “After two underwhelming seasons, the Mississippi State produced his best pro year to date with an 82.5 PFF overall grade, including a 77.9-plus mark in both the pass- and run-blocking splits. While Cross did surrender 47 pressures, it feels noteworthy that 10 alone came against the Lions, which means he likely was even more regularly effective on a game-by-game basis. As the Seahawks search for offensive line help in 2025, Cross will remain the team’s standard.”

Cross is signed through the 2025 campaign, and the Seahawks will possess a fifth-year contract option for the 2026 campaign. The Seahawks need to find long-term starters at the other offensive line positions. Cross is a stabilizer at left tackle.
