The 2023 edition of All-Star weekend was quiet for the Golden State Warriors. With Steph Curry’s injury eliminating him from starting in the game on Sunday, the Warriors didn’t have a player on the court involved in the festivities all weekend, including the dunk contest, 3-point contest and Rising Stars game.
Although he wasn’t on the court playing, Draymond Green was the lone representative of the Warriors in Utah. The four-time All-Star wore the headset, held the microphone, and joined the booth alongside TNT’s Inside the NBA crew. Green brought analysis and sideline interviews to an alternate broadcast of the game with Ernie Johnson, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, Shaquille O’Neal, and of course, Charles Barkley.
In the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game, Green and the Hall of Fame forward had a back-and-forth exchange regarding the Warriors. The always critical Barkley had a bold prediction when it came to Golden State’s chances of making a run. According to Barkley, the Warriors are “cooked.” Green went on to defend his team, saying “you said that last year, but we all know you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

After an up-and-down start to the season, the defending champions sit at 29-29 at the All-Star break. With their .500 record, the Warriors are qualified for the play-in tournament as the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference. The Warriors are currently without All-Star guard Steph Curry as he recovers from a lower leg injury.
The Warriors will start the final stretch run of the season on Thursday with a matchup against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in Hollywood. The game is slated to tip-off at 7 p.m. PT on Thursday, Feb. 23.
