Charity Billy Connolly LEGO pieces sold on eBay for hundreds by greedy sellers

Greedy sellers are trying to make a fast buck on online marketplace eBay - by punting charity Billy Connolly Lego figures just days after they went on sale in the city.

Just 750 limited edition figurines were created by Buchanan Galleries, with all proceeds from their sale are going to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Fans of the Big Yin queued round the block on Saturday to get their hands on the sought-after ‘Wee Big Yins’, which celebrate one of the most famous and much-loved celebrities in Scotland while raising funds for a very worthwhile cause in the city.

Yet some are now attempting to cash in on the figures - with bids for some pieces going for over £300 since being put up for auction at the weekend.

One piece named 'The Funny Yin' and featuring Billy sporting a 'Big Banana Feet' jersey and his famous Banana boots has received a bid of £299 before the auction ends tomorrow on it, while a similar piece sold this morning for £360 after receiving 11 bids.

The listing for the first piece reads: "You are bidding on a totally rare and unique Lego Figure of Billy Connolly 'Big Banana Feet' recreated from his famous song. Totally rare and cannot be purchased and ideal for collectors of lego figures."
