Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton will begin the 2023 regular season on the reserve/PUP list, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Guyton will miss the first four games but can start practicing after the first two.
Guyton had his 2022 season cut short after suffering a torn ACL last season in Week 3 against the Jaguars.
In his four seasons with Los Angeles, Guyton has 61 catches for 1,023 yards and six touchdowns while starting 11 of the 38 games he appeared in.
With Guyton out, at least for the early stages of the season, L.A. will decide how they fill the sixth wide receiver spot ahead of announcing the initial 53-man roster.
Keelan Doss and John Hightower, who both had great showings at training camp and preseason, are the frontrunners for the spot.
