The Los Angeles Chargers are primed for a shake-up as the start of the new league year approaches on Wednesday. The team is considering parting ways with wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, as Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported.
The news comes on the heels of a report that the team is open to trading defensive stars Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa.
Allen played in 13 games last season and led the Chargers in receiving yards by a wide margin. He finished the season with 108 receptions for 1,243 yards and seven touchdown catches. He’s spent his entire career with the Chargers since being drafted by the franchise as a third-rounder in 2013, totaling 904 receptions, 10,530 yards and 59 touchdowns in 139 games.
Williams suffered a torn ACL last season. He played in just three games and caught 19 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown. He was the No. 7 pick in the 2017 NFL draft by the Chargers and has caught 309 passes for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns in 88 games over seven seasons.
