After another loss, the Los Angeles Chargers announced that they parted ways with head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco.
The news was hardly surprising as even Staley was unsure if he would keep his job after an embarrassing blowout against the Raiders on Thursday night. His halftime interview was incredibly sad and everyone, including former NFL star Richard Sherman, was calling for the end of the Staley era in Los Angeles.
As our own Cory Woodroof wrote, quarterback Justin Herbert and the talented Chargers roster deserved so much better.
Others, especially fans of the Chargers, were also thrilled to see that the organization was moving on to new leadership for next season and beyond.

What is ultimately best for the future was for Tom Telesco and Brandon Staley to both be fired.

A lot of warranted heat on Staley. The firing of GM Tom Telesco is a big deal, too.
LA has handed out tons of extensions — Mike Williams, Michael Davis, JC Jackson, Derwin James, Joey Bosa, Corey Linsley, Sebastian Joseph-Day — and haven't gotten bang for their buck at all.

Tom Telesco had been Chargers' GM since 2013, hired three different coaches and got fired because he couldn't adequately build a roster despite having a star QB on a rookie contract.

Telesco and Staley should've both been let go after the JAX game. It was time to reset then. 2023 was a byproduct of not coming to that reality.
Instead, both were allowed to dig deeper in the organization and get fewer results. Now we have to hope it's not far too late.
