NEW YORK — Four people were shot and wounded, including three teenagers, when at least one gunman sprayed bullets into a group of people on a Bronx sidewalk on Tuesday, police sources said.
The chaos unfolded at the corner of East 180th Street and Daly Avenue in the West Farms neighborhood around 5:50 p.m., according to cops.
Three people approached the group, who were standing outside a bodega, and fired off at least 12 rounds, sources said. The number of shooters was not immediately clear.
A 17-year-old boy was shot in the legs and buttocks, a 15-year-old was blasted in the leg, a 14-year-old boy was shot in both legs and a 62-year-old man was grazed to the face, sources said.
The culprits, who police believe to be either teens or young men, were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and took off on foot.
The youngest victim’s shaken mother sobbed as her son was loaded into an ambulance after the shooting.
“I’m so scared,” said Genesis Sanchez. “He went down to get something to eat and this happened. I can’t believe it.”
They were all taken to local hospitals in stable condition.
There were no immediate arrests.
