Virgin Media's This Morning descended into chaos on Tuesday after co-host Rylan Clark "walked off" set.
The presenter returned to the show for the first time in years as he joined Ruth Langsford as a part of the summer team.
The former X Factor star kicked off the programme as he recalled a horrifying memory that took place on August 14.
The 33-year-old said he was left shocked after a snake slithered into his house and admitted that he was not a fan of the reptiles.
However, the tale gave Ruth an idea to have a joke at the Eurovision presenter's expense, reports the Daily Star .
A little later in the show, she got her hands on a toy snake, and before viewers knew it, she launched it at her co-star, which led to him letting out a huge scream.
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant immediately leapt off the sofa and was left in hysterics by the reaction her prank got.
Trying his best not to swear, a stuttering Rylan told his co-host: "That was really close! Did you not..."
"Barry in my ear, you know!" he added.
The Loose Women panellist then placed the toy snake on a stunned Rylan's shoulder as he held his mouth and said: "See if I had my old set of teeth..."
Processing what had happened, Rylan began pointing at those behind the camera and admitted to viewers he'd warned his colleagues on the crew not to do anything silly, as he'd developed a bad habit of using swear words since he'd last been on set.
He added: "I sat you all down this morning, and I said, 'Do not do it on air because the words that's my new default is not daytime'."
Ruth responded: "Oh, I know I was worried about that, but I thought, 'I'm going to go for it anyway'."
"Can you read this while I go and have a small stroke over in the corner," asked Rylan as he held his chest.
As Ruth began introducing Phil Vickery cooking on a beach in Grenada, Rylan said: "Good for him, I'm out," before walking off set.
Viewers found the encounter hilarious and were straight on social media to demand the pair present more often, with one writing: "@Rylan "if I had my old set of teeth in" we need Ry and Ruth on @thismorning every day."
Another said: "Love Rylan and Ruth. best week so far! #thismorning," while a third echoed: "Wow this is fantastic. Rylan and Ruth are on !!!!! Have them on again Pleassseeeeee."
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on Virgin Media.
