'Chaos' as police scramble to chase DOG running along the M6 for more than an hour

An adventurous husky caused 'chaos' on a busy motorway as officers chased him along the road for more than an hour. Motorway police and National Highways officers scrambled to bring the dog to a halt as he ran along the M6 southbound near Greater Manchester.

North West Motorway Police says the chase went on for an hour-and-a-half near junction 23 at Haydock earlier today (March 12). But despite the husky's daring escapade, he was eventually returned safely to his owner.

A spokesperson for North West Motorway Police told the Manchester Evening News: "It took about an hour-and-a-half to capture him. He was running along the network southbound at Haydock.

"The owner has turned up and managed to chase it with the help of a few officers. He's been returned safely to his owner, with no injuries to the dog.

"It caused chaos for an hour-and-a-half. It was a little adventure for him but it all ended well."

North West Motorway Police shared an image of the dog taking a much-needed drink of water after his tiresome exploits on the M6. The tweet said he had been 'safely secured and reunited with one thankful owner'.
