Channel 5 viewers confused as Helen Skelton's Springtime On The Farm repeat airs

Channel 5 viewers "had deja vu" as they tuned in to watch the new series of Springtime On The Farm. Fans were confused after the wrong episode of the farming series, presented by Helen Skelton, was aired by mistake last night (April 11).

Instead of the new episode that was supposed to be broadcast, an old one from the last series was shown, which Channel 5 has blamed on a "technical error". The new episode was set to feature some adorable four-legged newborn lambs being welcomed to Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley.

However, fans were quick to realise they had seen the episode that actually went to air before. They took to social media to share their disappointment and confusion as Channel 5 clarified the mistake, reported Yorkshire Live.

The official Twitter accounts for Channel 5 and Springtime On The Farm had both been promoting the new episode in the hours before the timeslot. Shortly before the show was set to return to our screens, @Onthefarmc5 tweeted: "15 minutes to go until showtime! Grab your snacks, get comfy and tune in to @Channel5_tv".

In reply to that tweet, Abi (@abicornishsplit) wrote: "Is there a technical issue? There was a big delay and now we watching last yrs footage".

Sarah (@SarahGarside1) commented: "Pls play the live episode instead of last year's episode Elliot was born last year." And Lynsey (@78lynsey) replied: "Why are we watching last years show? I’m assuming there must have been technical issues?"

Meanwhile, Rachel (@RachelLofts1) asked: "Why are Channel 5 showing last years Springtime on the farm, where is the new series #SpringtimeOnTheFarm". Megan (@meganlouise1802) posted: "I think there has been an issue on channel 5 as there was a glitch before the start and it is showing last years springtime on the farm?!"

In reply to another tweet, Chris (@BarnsleyGreen) explained: "This is from last year. Must have had ongoing technical difficulties at the start". @Thebeardlessone replied: "I thought I just had deja vu... Thank you."

In a statement on Twitter, Channel 5 confirmed the new series would be back as planned tonight (April 12). It read: "Apologies, we've had a technical issue with today's planned Springtime On The Farm. It will be back tomorrow at 8pm as planned, all new."

Teresa (@GammageTeresa) replied: "Hi. What about showing the new episode that was planned for tonight. When will we see that one. Thanks x".

Belinda (@BelindaHinchli3) added: "Feel like I’ve been cheated out of an episode, hope we get an extra episode at the end for what we’ve missed. Caused a mass panic on all the pages haha".
