Dan Walker is set to host a live TV special on the missing Titanic submarine on Thursday night, as disgusted viewers continue to hit out at Channel 5 for commissioning the show, which will air hours after the oxygen on the vessel runs out.
On Sunday, five passengers embarked on the underwater trip aboard the Titan submersible, owned by OceanGate Expeditions, heading to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean in the hope of seeing the wreckage of the Titanic, 111 years on from the famous liner's devastating disaster at sea. However, since all contact was lost between the Titan and its mother ship, the Polar Prince., there has been no trace of the sub its passengers.
The five people on board the missing submarine are: OceanGate Expeditions CEO Stockton Rush, billionaire explorer Hamish Harding, renowned French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet and Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman.

It is predicted that the oxygen supply to the Titan will run out just after 12 noon UK time on Thursday, as rescuers faced a race against time and the families of those onboard cling onto hopes of their safe return.
The missing submarine has dominated headlines across the world over the last few days, with people across the world keeping all those involved in their prayers, meaning that when it was confirmed Channel 5 had commissioned live TV special Titanic Sub: Lost at Sea, the reaction was extremely negative.
Some furious viewers took to Twitter to voice their disgust, with a few of them directly contacting Ofcom to voice their disapproval, as one tweeted: "Jesus f**k, Channel 5 are heartless and outdid Netflix - they're doing a documentary tomorrow, the day potentially those in the submarine will lose their lives." A second posted: "Channel 5 airing a documentary about the submarine without the ordeal even being concluded yet. Just feels scummy and a cash grab."
It will be the job of former Football Focus presenter and ex BBC Breakfast anchor Dan Walker to front the show, months after he hosted a live special on the search for the then missing Nicola Bulley, before her lifeless body was sadly found.
