Riptide is a brand-new drama with a star-studded cast list of soap icons. The thriller, which is filmed in Australia, landed on Channel 5 and My 5 on Tuesday, December 27, and will air over four consecutive nights this week.
The drama stars EastEnders actress Jo Joyner, Coronation Street's Ciarán Griffiths, and Neighbours' Peter O’Brien, as well as A Place to Call Home and Outlander star David Berry and Wentworth's Ally Fowler.
A synopsis for the show reads: "Alison marries older and wealthier Sean. Moving into a luxury seaside home with her daughter Hannah, she fast becomes friends with their neighbour, widower Dan. But there’s tension, too. Sean’s son Ethan is against the marriage and ex-wife Rachel can’t conceal her resentment.

Where was Riptide filmed?
The primetime thriller was filmed in Melbourne Australia. Speaking about filming there, Jo said: "I really, really fell for Melbourne in a big way – it was honestly amazing. I could live there. I will always have a soft spot for the place now."
Meanwhile, David said of the "incredible sunsets" in Melbourne: "Looking out and seeing the sun setting over the water, and the red in the sky, it did make me fall in love with Melbourne. It's not the Australia that many people understand as their idea of what Australia is. In a lot of people’s minds you’ve got Sydney harbour, the Great Barrier Reef – these are things often seen in Australian films – but Melbourne has its own beautiful landscapes that I don’t really think people have really come to appreciate exist in Australia.
"It’s cold, it’s moody, it’s misty, it’s raining. And it’s also sometimes bright and beautiful, and it has so many different pockets of natural beauty that were unique to me, and will be unique to audiences as they can fall in love with Australia in a completely different way than they’ve come to imagine it."
