Channel 4 star Harry Savage found dead at Putney home as friends pay tribute to 'most beautiful soul'

Channel 4 star Harry Savage has been found dead at his home in south west London as friends led tributes to “the most beautiful soul”.

Mr Savage, 26, who appeared on TV reality show Hunted in 2019, was unresponsive at the scene last Friday.

Metropolitan Police officers arrested a man in his 30s. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries, a spokesman said.

Paramedics discovered Mr Savage, originally from Essex, at around 9.15am on July 19 but he was pronounced dead.

Officers are awaiting the outcome of toxicology tests following a post-mortem on Saturday.

The former drama student starred in Hunted - which follows 14 ordinary people on the run while eluding a team of expert sleuths - alongside brother and campsite owner Frank Savage.

Their mother died weeks before the show was recorded, while the boys’ father passed away years previously.

In his last Instagram post, Mr Savage uploaded an image of himself in Spain alongside the caption: “Ibiza, it’s been a minute.”

According to his social media page, he was in charge of partnerships at dating site Thursday.

One friend posted on social media: “What a sad day. RIP Harry Savage. One of the most beautiful souls on this earth. Rest well sweet angel.”

Another shared: “I am lost for words. Such a beautiful soul… one of the nicest guys I’ve ever had the privilege to know.”

Scotland Yard said: “Police were called by ambulance colleagues at around 09.15am on Friday, July 19 to a man unresponsive at an address in Putney.

“The 26-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“A post-mortem examination commenced on Saturday, July 20. Officers await the outcome of toxicology tests.

“Detectives responsible for policing Wandsworth are investigating the incident as an ‘unexpected death’.

“They remain in contact with the man’s family and will be supporting them as enquiries continue to establish the circumstances.

“A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.”
