Channel 4 SAS: Who Dares Wins: Viewers say they've found the mole as Bristol contestant leaves show

Fans of military reality show 'SAS: Who Dares Wins' think they have already discovered the mole in this year's lineup.

In last night's episode, the recruits were faced with the task of having to fall backwards into the sea, but one of them decided instead to dive in. This person was recruit number 12, who is called James Stammers and resides right here in Bristol, and those in charge were so furious with him for the move that they ended up punishing the rest of the group.

Recruit number 12 was made to shout orders at his fellow recruits as part of the punishment, however viewers watching at home suspected it was all a set up. The Scottish Sun reports that a number of fans took to Twitter to voice their suspicions...

One Twitter user said: "I spy a mole number 12! #SASWhoDaresWins." A second added: "I bet number 12 is the mole and that was all a set up #SASWhoDaresWins."

While a third asked: "No12 James - I smell a mole. Ex forces perhaps? #SASWhoDaresWins."

James ended up quitting the show while the rest of the recruits were being punished, but fans think it might not be the last we see of him. In previous series where a mole has been part of the lineup, it's actually turned out to be a member of the directing staff.

Prior to appearing on the show, James revealed that he hoped it would help him find his brother who has been missing for 10 years. James lives in Bristol but grew up in Essex with his parents, older sister and younger brother Anthony, who vanished at the age of 27 on the day of their grandfather's funeral.

He told the family he had to run an errand and would meet them at the funeral, but he never arrived and hasn't been seen since. Now James, 40, hopes his brother will turn up alive after his appeal on the show.

Asked why he decided to take part in 'SAS: Who Dares Wins', James said: "So many reasons; I was turning 40 and feel the best I’ve ever felt so wanted to put myself to the test.

"I’ve never really been broken down so I wanted to know how much I could endure and where or how I might break.

"My brother disappeared 10 years ago, so I also wanted to create awareness of that through my presence and story within the show."

The show returns this Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
