Former A Place in the Sun star Jonnie Irwin has given an update as he tries to sort out his family home amid an ongoing cancer battle.
The 49-year-old popular TV personality has sadly been given a terminal cancer diagnosis, with medics warning that potentially he might only have months to live. His family - wife Jessica, 40, and their three children - are Jonnie's main priority and he has been working hard to provide for them for once he is gone.
Previously, the property expert has spoken about his wish to have a house in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne so Jessica and his children can be supported by her family in the area when he’s not there any more. In his latest Instagram post, the Channel 4 star showed that he already has wheels in motion for the move.

He said the home was undergoing a refurbishment, as he posted an image showing the beauty of the River Tyne with the Tyne Bridge, Gateshead Millennium Bridge and Sage Gateshead behind him, in Newcastle. Jonnie wrote: "Went to look at some windows for the refurb. Look at the view some lucky bugger has from their office window…"
Some of his 150,000 Instagram followers showed support for the TV host. One user wrote: "Jonnie I just wish I could give you a hug ! Strongest hug that I could give to anyone…"
Another fan called on another property expert to provide Jonnie with some help. They said: "Nick Knowles get your volunteers together and do everything jonnie and his family needs please." A third user added: "Lovely to see you out and about sending a big hug and love to you all."
Jonnie was first being diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2020, which has since spread to his brain. Upon receiving the heartbreaking news his cancer was terminal, the TV favourite began taking steps to protect his family financially for the hardship ahead.
