Channel 4's A Place in the Sun buyer issues warning after looking round home

A buyer on today's A Place in the Sun issued a warning to property expert Jean Johansson as she searched for her forever home.

Jean was helping Alan and Julie as they were on the lookout for their dream home. They hoped for a place worth up to £140,000 in La Zenia, Alicante.

Alan and Julie said they hoped for a holiday home as they "aren't getting any younger." Julie said if they don't do it now then they will never do it.

The married couple had a list of requirements including a minimum of three bedrooms. They also preferably wanted a pool or a property close to the beach. Alan admitted that he wasn't the best at compromising.

Jean showed the couple a property that was under budget for their first option. It had a communal pool and the bedrooms required. However, it was a bit further from the beach than the couple would have liked and they said that it didn't have enough space for all of their family.

Julie explained that it would do as a holiday home but they were hoping to move out to Spain permanently in the future. She said: "I would rather go up a little bit in price and have something that is more comfortable for the family."

Jean laughed as she said: "Right, so I'm going to spend a bit more of your money. I'm going to give you some more room and that will also allow me to get you a bit closer to the sea if we go up a bit more into your budget."

Julie replied: "That was fantastic." Then, she pointed her finger at Jean as she gave the property expert a warning. She said: "We're relying on you Jean!" The host looked shocked as she said: "Ok! No pressure!"

The next property impressed the couple much more. It was closer to the beach and featured much larger rooms. It was a three bedroom, spacious townhouse for £157,000. Although the property was a bit over budget, it still seemed to be a contender for the couple.

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4 and All 4
