Matt Lucas was quick to explain what was going on after two bakers went missing from the famous tent on the latest episode of The Great British Bake Off. The hit Channel 4 show is now in its third week with Matt and co-host Noel Fielding back to keep the competitors company and the viewers amused.
The baking competition kicked off with cakes earlier this month before last week saw the remaining amateur bakers tackle biscuits. But this week's episode, airing on Tuesday night (September 27), it's all about the bread. So far two of the contestants have been crowned 'Star Baker'.
And two have unfortunately had to leave, including Libyan-born Maisam, 18, from Greater Manchester, who was eliminated last week after failing to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith.

However, the tent was looking particularly empty during tonight's episode and in the opening moments of the show, after the competitors entered the tent, presenter Matt explained all.
He pointed out that it was Rebs and Abdul who were missing from the group and revealed their whereabouts. "Both Rebs and Abdul are a bit under the weather this week," he said before adding: "But with your permission, we thought we’d send them both straight through to the final."
As the remaining amateur bakers laughed, Matt’s co-host Noel chimed in to clarify: "Only joking, they’re going to miss a week and hopefully they’ll be back next week."
Viewers of the Great British Bake Off were unimpressed as Paul and Prue chose Maisam to go home and flocked to social media to have their say. @diaryofgoose said: "WHAT!!! JUSTICE FOR MAISAM #GBBO." @mikrogalaxies wrote: "MAISAM WAS ROBBED! #GBBO." @jadesdelicate fumed: "HOW WAS MAISAM THE ONE WHO LEFT??? OVER OTHERS WHO WERE WORSE??? #GBBO." @grace_is_sugoi cried: "Not Maisam. Wrong decision imo #GBBO."
Some felt that Rebs should have left after receiving help from her fellow bakers during the three challenges. But Janusz, who captured Bake Off fans' hearts in week one, jumped to the 23-year-old's student's defence on Twitter. "I offered Rebs helping hand as I finished before time, you just don’t see it on TV!
"You only see Rebs asking me but it was offered prior," he added. He also clarified his point again to another viewer, typing: "I actually finished before time and before I was asked I actually offered help. You don’t see everything on TV."
