Gogglebox favourites Dave and Shirley offered up an update for fans and the reaction was instant. The popular Welsh couple took to social media to make the announcement.
Posting a picture on Instagram of themselves in their familiar spot on the sofa, they wrote: "Don't forget Friday folks, #gogglebox is back on the 9th xx". Fans and fellow Gogglebox stars soon reacted. Likes rolled in from the Gogglebox 'family' including Sophie Sandiford, Marcus Luther, Izzi Warner, Jenny and Lee, and Stephen Webb, while fans couldn't hide their excitement at the prospect of the show's return.
One person wrote: "I can't wait, so excited to be seeing you back on my TV. Hope you have both had an amazing Summer. Love & hugs", with another adding: "Chilling nicely getting ready for Friday! Hope your both well and you’ve had a fab summer !!! Sooooo looking forward to Friday and my fave Welsh duo". A third added: "Cannot wait to see you both. We’ve missed you. Hope you had a lovely summer and are well rested".
Channel 4 swaps out the Gogglebox regulars over the summer for a celebrity line-up. This year including names such as Judi Love, Gyles Brandreth, Dame Joanna Lumley, Rylan Clark-Neal, Big Zuu, Hyuder and Tubsey, Fearne Cotton and Gok Wan.
