Channel 4 Gogglebox: Glasgow family branded 'hard to understand' as viewers call for subtitles

Channel 4's Gogglebox returned to our screens tonight (February 25) for yet another episode of the hit TV show.

The episode was quite a special one in our opinion because some newbies were introduced to the Gogglebox family.

Tonight's show saw couple Joe, 25, and Roisin, 23 appear on their first episode - and yes, they're Scottish!

The pair moved into Joe's family home in Glasgow during lockdown and have already proved a hit with fans north of the border -with Glaswegians and Scots alike happy to finally have some representation on the show

The duo will feature alongside fan favourites such as best friends Jenny and Lee and sibling duo Pete and Sophie.

The cast reacted to popular and trending shows such as Celeb Help: My House is Haunted, Starstuck, Cheaters, Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad and Love is Blind - to name a few.

Taking to social media, people shared all their opinions on the new Scottish sofa couple on the show - with plenty joking about the need for subtitles to see what they were saying.

One said: "Subtitles required for the Scottish couple please."

Another added: "I don't understand a word the Scottish people are saying omg."

A third tweeted: "Didn’t understand a word those new Scottish ones said."

A fourth commented: "New couple on #Gogglebox …I can’t understand a word, just Scottish noises.

As you can imagine, some of the negative folk were shut down in the good old fashioned Scots way.

One wrote: "Just waiting for the complaints that folk cannot understand the Scottish couple. Open your ears...we have to understand all the English dialects EVERY day."

What did you think about the new Glasgow couple? Let us know in the comments!
