Channel 4 A Place in the Sun fans fear for buyers safety in home 'like a shack'

Fans of A Place in the Sun were concerned over one property on today's episode.

Martin and Sonia had travelled around Greece for years and now dreamt of retiring there. Laura Hamilton welcomed them to the Channel 4 show as she helped them find their ideal property.

They were looking for a permanent relocation rather than just a holiday home as they had already sold their UK property. Laura said "the pressure is on" as they began the search.

The couple had a budget of £120,000 to find their new home. They were looking for a property with a good location near a town and beach. They had previously found a home in Greece that they loved but the sale fell through so their search continued.

But it seemed the couple were hard to please as nothing compared to the home they had previously seen. Laura showed them a home which viewers said resembled "a shack" and they feared for the buyer's safety if they were to make a purchase.

Viewers said the property looked like a "shack" (Channel 4)

The three-bedroom home had a room which resembled a cave and only two small windows. Sonia said: "I don't like the cave structure at the end. It's dark and there's little window there and there but that is it. It's just not doing anything for me, I have no good feeling about it."

The couple refused to look around the rest of the property, which was on the market for £119,000, as Sonia said: "I do not want to look at it at all." Laura said: "So location is very wrong here and it sounds like the property is very wrong as well."

Fans on Twitter agreed. Dee said: "Could be dead in that house & no one would find you for years... #Aplaceinthesun"

Sarah said: "I hope it’s better on the inside. Looks like a blooming shack! #aplaceinthesun." Meanwhile, Ange said: "I’d find only having those small windows a threat, how are you supposed to see the bandits approach?!! #aplaceinthesun."

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4
