Changes proposed for Morrisons car park at Victoria Retail Park in Netherfield

Plans for alterations to a Nottinghamshire Morrisons have been put forward.

The supermarket in Netherfield, situated in Victoria Park Way, is hoping to introduce an IN’n’OUT Autocentre and Xpress, which offer repairs and MOT testing.

It would be placed in the car park of the store, and as part of the plans, 49 parking spaces would be removed from the existing 440.

Whittam Cox Architects, who have been commisioned by Morrisons for the project, said: "The scheme seeks to revitalise the existing Morrisons car park by offering more choice to customers and generating new employment opportunities through the provision of IN’n’OUT Autocentre and Xpress Centre pods.

"Morrisons hope that the advantages of this proposal as well as the overall benefits to the local community will be supported."

It added: "The location choice for the IN’n’OUT Autocentre and Xpress Centre is not only complimentary to the existing useof the site but also purposefully promotes economic activity within a key retail location."

The plans were put forward to Gedling Borough Council and were validated on January 18, they now await decision on their approval.
