Changes on the way for Nottinghamshire McDonald's as revamp planned

Changes could be on the way at one of Mansfield's McDonald's restaurants as the fast food chain looks to revamp the outlet. The eatery at the Mansfield Leisure Park on Park Lane is one of three McDonald's branches in the town, with chains including KFC also being based at the leisure park.

The business has submitted an application to Mansfield District Council to make a series of changes at the Park Lane restaurant. Among the proposals are the relocation of the entrance and the replacement of the drive through booths.

Also contained in the plans is the reconfiguration of part of the site to form a new food safe dry store, alongside new furniture and barriers in the patio areas. Small extensions to the site will also be made, although the amount of parking will not be affected.

The highways team at Nottinghamshire County Council has not raised any objections to the plans, with the authority saying: "This is an application for minor changes to the operation within the site and storage areas of this drive through restaurant. The changes do not affect the wider public highway network.

"Access to the site is not adversely affected. Parking provision is unaffected. It is unlikely that this proposal will result in an unacceptable risk to highway safety."

The other McDonald's outlets in Mansfield are based on Westgate and Oakleaf Close. The application was submitted in late July and will now have to be considered by council officers.
