Read more from Crikey’s Elect Me! series here.

If you could change just one thing about Australia, what would it be?

To boost the power of the organised working class in society relative to capital.

What is the worst thing anyone has ever said to you?

Unrepeatable rubbish from right-wingers at protests and on picket lines.

What is the best thing that has ever happened to you?

Coming to the realisation that it’s not enough for me to just be politically progressive. I can do the best good within communities fighting for change from the bottom up.

Who or what do you see as the biggest threat to Australia?

Climate change.

Which historical figure do you most admire and why?

Tiberius Gracchus, the tribune of the plebeians in the old Roman republic. Under his leadership ordinary citizens won major reforms from the Roman elite and nearly revolutionised the state.

What would your final meal be?

Load me up with the creamiest desserts! I want to die the way I’ve lived.

Elect Me! is an ongoing Crikey election series. If you are a candidate, and we have yet to be in touch, please feel free to answer the questions in this article and send us your answers to letters@crikey.com.au.
