Bristol City have had their fair share of transfer news and speculation this week with Nigel Pearson eager to get his squad into shape.
Mark Sykes arrived on Monday, joining on a free transfer from Oxford United to add some attacking threat to City's midfield.
City were then linked by Football Insider with a move for Arsenal youngster Ryan Alebiosu to fill the problem position at right-back. Bristol Live further understands the Gunners would be interested in letting the 20-year-old leave on a permanent deal should Nigel Pearson but eager to pursue a move.
On Thursday, Bristol Live further reported how Reading's defensive midfielder Andy Rinomhota has emerged as a target to help provide some defensive stability in midfield.
There hasn't been much movement among Championship clubs so far, except Cardiff who have signed four players, but that hasn't prevented the rumour mill from doing the rounds.
Swansea close on Arsenal keeper
According to Football Insider, Swansea are close to signing Arsenal keeper Remy Mitchell. The stopper is out of contract next month and is braced to move following stints with the club's youth sides.
Aged 18, Mitchell is likely to be eyed as one for the future and Swansea are braced to have competition for his signature. Mitchell may feel a pathway into the Championship side's first-team is a lot more likely than with Arsenal.
Swansea yesterday announced that keeper Ben Hamer will leave the club next month on the expiration of his contract.
Norwich turn down West Brom defender
Norwich manager Dean Smith has opted against signing defender Cedric Kipre, who is out of favour at the Baggies.
The centre-back is expected to leave the Hawthorns this summer having failed to impress Steve Bruce since his appointment. Rangers have reportedly shown an interest as had Norwich as they look to tweak their squad ahead of a return to the Championship.
But the Eastern Daily Press has dismissed the reports, with Smith claiming they were "not true" in his pre-match press conference. West Brom are asking for £1million for his signature.
Championship free transfers up for grabs
Blackburn, Millwall and Birmingham City all released their retained lists on Friday and there could be a number of bargains up for grabs.
Blackburn released eight players in total in Joe Rothwell, Bradley Johnson, Jacob Davenport, Harry Chapman, Luke Brennan, Connor McBride, Sam Durrant and Joe Nolan. The club triggered a one-year extension to Ben Brereton Diaz's contract.
Eight players also left Birmingham in Jeremie Bela, Renedi Masampu, Archie Matthews, Kristian Pedersen, Oriol Soldevila, Kane Thompson-Sommers, Connal Trueman, Yoane Zohore.
For Millwall, four senior players will leave the club in Frank Fielding, Shaun Williams, Shane Ferguson and George Alexander.
Hull to sign the 'new Mo Salah'
Yes, they are direct quotes from the club's owner Acun Ilicali.
Allahyar Sayyadmanesh has been on loan with the Tigers since January and has impressed under manager Shota Arveladze. The Iranian striker returned to his parent club Fenerbahce at the end of the season.
However, it will be a whistle-stop visit in Turkey with the club set to bring him back on a permanent contract. Ilicali told Hull Live: "He's our jewellery. He's very talented and is progressing. I've said before that I think he can be the new Mohammed Salah.
"I read something in the Turkish press suggesting that we're not going to buy him or send him back. These things are written all the time, but we are very happy with him and our coach is very happy with him. When my coach is happy I am happy. We are going to see him soon."
