Sunderland forward Ross Stewart is among the contenders to win the Championship golden boot next season. The 26-year-old is joint 10th on Sky Bet with odds of 20/1 for the Scotland international to finish as the leading goal scorer in the second-tier.
Stewart scored 25 times in League One last season and was pipped to the golden boot by a single goal by Wigan Athletic striker Will Keane. He had never scored more than 12 goals in a single season before the 2021/22 campaign and Sunderland supporters will be desperate for him to continue his rich vein of form in the Championship.
Teemu Pukki is currently the clear favourite at 6/1 after returning to the Championship following Norwich City’s relegation from the Premier League last term. The Finnish international collected the golden boot in 2018/19 with 29 goals and netted 26 times as he finished behind Ivan Toney (31) and Adam Armstrong (28) in 2020/21.

Swansea City’s Joel Piroe (9/1) and Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz (10/1) – who scored 22 goals each last season – are Pukki’s closest competitors. Piroe enjoyed a remarkable debut season in the Championship after swapping PSV Eindhoven for Swansea last summer.
Brereton Diaz scored more goals last season than he had managed in his first 148 professional appearances (20 goals) for Nottingham Forest and Blackburn respectively.
West Brom duo Daryl Dike (14/1) and Karlan Grant (16/1) also feature among the favourites, while Dwight Gayle is available at odds of 16/1 after returning to the Championship with Stoke City. Stewart is available at odds of 20/1 along with Watford trio Emmanuel Dennis, Vakoun Issouf Bayo and Joao Pedro, Swansea striker Michael Obafemi and Burnley’s Jay Rodriguez.
Sky Bet Odds:
Teemu Pukki – Norwich City (6/1)
Joel Piroe – Swansea City
Ben Brereton Diaz – Blackburn Rovers (10/1)
Daryl Dike – West Brom (14/1)
Dwight Gayle – Stoke City (16/1)
Karlan Grant – West Brom (16/1)
Emmanuel Dennis – Watford (20/1)
Jay Rodriguez – Burnley (20/1)
Joao Pedro – Watford (20/1)
Michael Obafemi – Swansea (20/1)
Ross Stewart – Sunderland (20/1)
Vakoun Issouf Bayo – Watford (20/1)
