Championship club 'in talks' for Nottingham Forest star

Hull City are reportedly holding 'talks' with Nottingham Forest over a loan deal for defender Harry Toffolo.

Toffolo has seen his opportunities limited under Steve Cooper having made just 10 appearances this season. Renan Lodi is currently Cooper's first choice for the left side of the Reds' defence, while Omar Richards, who is currently recovering from a leg fracture, will also provide competition at left-back.

According to our sister title HullLive, Forest would be willing to do business with Hull this month, before the window closes on Tuesday, January 31 (11pm). Although talks are ongoing, a decision reportedly lies with the 27-year-old.

Hull are also understood to be open to signing Toffolo on a loan deal first before making the move permanent in the summer. The Tigers' boss Liam Rosenior has highlighted left-back is an area he wishes to improve on.

But it remains to be seen whether the 27-year-old will want to return to the Championship after joining Forest from Huddersfield in the summer.
