Wigan Athletic are reportedly "checking" on Nottingham Forest duo Harry Toffolo and Jack Colback as they look to boost their Championship survival chances.
The Latics gained automatic promotion to the division last season after finishing top of League One. But their 2022-23 campaign in the second tier has been far from ideal so far.
Kolo Toure's side sit bottom of the table on 24 points after just six wins in 26 games. Since the former Premier League centre-back Toure was appointed as manager in November, Wigan are yet to register a victory.

They have, however, identified they need at least five new players to improve their team this month. Meanwhile, the Forest duo who have fallen down the pecking order, are being regarded as a possibility to fill in at left-back and in midfield.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, Latics chief scout Gary Finley watched the pair in action at Blackpool in their 4-1 thumping on Saturday afternoon. Wigan are looking into the "best loan players who could come on the market."
However, there will also be other clubs keen on Toffolo and Colback, with Nixon reporting "their terms are high."
