Liverpool beat Ajax - who won the Dutch league last season - both home and away in the group stage in 2020/21, although both games were played behind closed doors due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions.
They faced Napoli in the group stage in both 2018/19 and 2019/20, losing both times in Italy and winning 1-0 at Anfield before a 1-1 draw the following year.
However, the Reds have never before played Rangers in a competitive match, although they have met in friendly games with the most recent in October 2011 when the Scottish side - who beat PSV Eindhoven in the play-offs - won 1-0 at Ibrox.
With the World Cup taking place in November and December, the group stage takes place earlier in the season. The first game will take place on September 6/7 with the final group matches on November 1/2.
