Chameleon delivers office fit-out for fintech firm celebrated for its workplace wow - now take a look

How do you create a workspace fit for a company recently ranked in the top 10 in the UK for its existing provision?

That was the challenge facing Hull’s Chameleon Business Interiors when fintech firm Dojo turned to it for its new city centre operation.

As reported, the payment specialist has expanded, taking a significant portion of @TheDock tech campus, in the latest £3.75 million Fruit Market addition.

The interior design, fit-out and furnishing specialist was appointed to transform the space into a new home for its near-200 Hull-based team.

It has delivered a flexible environment incorporating workspaces and desking for individual teams, as well as training facilities and meeting rooms.

In line with Dojo’s focus on colleague wellbeing, the design also includes a kitchen area, breakout spaces and places where the team can socialise informally.

Chameleon chairman Shaun Watts said: “We were excited by the opportunity to work with a brand as committed to providing a great working environment as we are. Their commitment to improving the wellbeing of their staff through a versatile space and to encourage teamwork meant they were the perfect client to align with.

“Dojo is well-known for being a people-focused business, and our team has enjoyed transforming the blank canvas at C4DI to a place where colleagues can collaborate and do their best work.

“As we continue with our commitment to sustainability, we prioritised the re-use of as much of Dojo’s existing office furniture as possible, enabling us to reduce waste while meeting the client’s needs.”

Among the key features delivered by Chameleon is a new auditorium space and smaller, vibrant workspaces that colleagues want to work in. The fit out aims to encourage team building and staff retention as people return to the office following the pandemic.

Liz Briggs, workplace experience manager at Dojo, said: “We’re delighted with what the team at Chameleon has delivered.

“Our recent ranking in the top three of the UK’s Best Workplaces for wellbeing and the top 10 of the UK’s Best Workplaces overall is down to our focus on creating work environments where our people want to be, which facilitate teamwork and support wellbeing.

“Our new home at C4DI delivers all this while also enabling efficient and effective working practices.”
