Chalet with design influenced by pioneer architect for sale

A chalet that sits on its own private land surrounded by woodland has been listed for sale in Merseyside.

Westwood Chalet, a three bedroom detached bungalow, is secluded behind an electronic gate and a long driveway, off Eleanor Road, in Bidston. The property is described as being “individual” with a Le Corbusier influence in its design.

Le Corbusier, the Swiss-French architect, is known as being one of the pioneers of modern design. The home is on its own plot with “beautifully” manicured gardens and also woodland at the bottom.

Despite Westwood Chalet being above the average price range, the same sized homes within 0.1miles have sold or are under offer for similar asking prices. Other homes on Eleanor Road sold after being listed for £370,000 and £625,000.

While homes within a mile are under offer after being put on the market for £480,000 , £350,000 and £289,000. Images of the chalet on Rightmove show that the home benefits from views of the surrounding greenery from the living room and kitchen windows.

There's also a decked terrace, that's elevated above the garden that can be accessed from bi fold doors . A hallway on the ground floor level leads to two double bedrooms (one of which has an ensuite), a living room, kitchen and study/office.

Despite the main living area being across one floor, there's also a lower ground floor with a home office that could be used as a third bedroom. In the garden there's a timber shed and also additional space for the possibility of renovation.

The estate agent said there is scope for further development at the bottom of the garden, as the space transitions from lawn to woodland. The current owners could look into building on the bottom of the plot, if planning permission allows.

The Brennan Ayre O’neill listing reads: "Westwood Chalet stands around midpoint along Eleanor Road to the south side of the road, opposite one hundred acres of Woodland Trust, namely Bidston Hill. Standing within a considerably large, very private and mature garden plot, Westwood Chalet enjoys elevated views down onto said garden from all main living reception and kitchen windows.

"Indeed to maximise those south facing views wide bi fold doors open from the expansive living room onto a decked terrace. This living space with ample room for living and dining room furniture is open plan to yet separate from a smart solid wood kitchen. More window views here designed again to maximise the benefits of these beautifully established gardens."
