Crystal Palace have agreed personal terms with Chadi Riad ahead as the club close in on their first summer signing.
The 20-year-old centre-back is expected to leave Real Betis in a deal worth up to £14million.
Riad, who was born in Majorca but has two caps for Morocco, joined Betis from Barcelona last summer and made 30 appearances for the side that finished seventh in La Liga this season.
Palace are expected to wrap up a deal to make the left-footed defender their first summer signing, as they bid to build on their strong finish to the season under Oliver Glasner and strengthen for next season.
His move to Selhurst Park could signal an exit for Marc Guehi, who has interest from several Premier League clubs including Manchester United.
Guehi is reportedly seen by United as an alternative target for to Jarrad Branthwaite if they cannot tempt Everton to sell with an offer in the region of £55m.
Palace could demand up to £65m for Guehi, who was yesterday named in England’s provisional squad for Euro 2024 along with his Palace team-mates Eberechi Eze, Adam Wharton and Dean Henderson.
