The 2023 Denver Broncos season faired much better than the disastrous 2022 campaign, but for quarterback Russell Wilson, his run in Denver might be coming to an end.
If you let former All-Pro wide receiver Chad Johnson tell it, he knows where Wilson might end up (with a little help from a friend).
On the latest episode of Nightcap, which he hosts alongside Shannon Sharpe, Johnson stated that a “little birdie” has alerted him that Wilson’s next stop will be with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
”A little birdie told me — and I said this many shows ago — Russell Wilson’s coming on over to the Steelers,” Johnson said, via Steelers Wire.
The Broncos are expected to release Wilson in March. If and when that happens, the Steelers might be among the quarterback’s suitors. Would they be a good fit?
Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin leans more on the defensive side, and after a bounce-back year under Sean Payton in 2023, maybe Wilson would benefit more from another offensive coach as he takes the next step in his career. Regardless, the Steelers will be a team to keep an eye on if Wilson hits the open market.
