Tech and business consultancy CGI is expanding into Northern Ireland in a move led by the company's Scottish management team.
The group is extending its Digital Services Delivery Centre into Belfast, adding to its existing workforce of almost 6,000 people throughout the UK.
It is already recruiting a team who will work alongside the company’s existing Digital Services Delivery Centre in Scotland. CGI ultimately hopes to recruit 50 staff in Northern Ireland.

CGI has grown in Scotland through partnerships with organisations including City of Edinburgh Council and Scottish Borders Council. It now employs more than 500 staff in four offices across the country - Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders, where it recently opened a new office and announced plans to hire an additional 50 consultants.
Tara McGeehan, president of CGI in the UK and Australia, said: “CGI is looking forward to partnering with clients in Northern Ireland to deliver world-class IT capabilities and solutions to meet their evolving digital needs.
"It is an exciting time for both Northern Ireland and CGI, so our aim is to replicate the success we have achieved in Scotland, where we have grown into one of the country’s biggest employers in the IT and business consulting services sector, in less than a decade.”
Lindsay McGranaghan, CGI vice president and business unit leader for Northern Ireland and Scotland, said: “We are excited to be here in Northern Ireland, to bring on great talent, and to collaborate with the local universities to discuss how we can help them develop new services."
