Cesc Fabregas has already given the green light for Erik ten Hag's first Man Utd transfer

Cesc Fabregas has already given his seal of approval for whoever wins the race to sign Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Monaco star is one of the brightest prospects in world football and this summer clubs will be circling around the midfielder - just like they did the previous year - as his future remains up in the air.

Thre French side were able to fend off his suitors on that occasion, but it will become increasingly difficult this time around as his stock continues to rise. Manchester United were one of the teams interested in Tchouameni, as well as Chelsea and Real Madrid, as they looked to add a midfielder towards the end of the window.

But the Red Devils were unsuccessful in their attempts to sign the 22-year-old and the middle of the park still remains an issue for them almost 12 months later. That's precisely why they will come back in for the Frenchman and the news that Erik ten Hag is set to be named United's new boss has accelerated their interest in the playmaker.

The Dutchman is 'keen' on signing the playmaker and is a huge admirer of his versatility which would be a huge asset to United The report states that Monaco are open to negotiations and want between £50million and £60million for their prized asset.

And Fabregas, who knows a thing or two about Tchouameni as his teammate at Monaco, predicted that he would have a big season in Ligue 1 calling him a "complete midfielder" last summer. He said: "He has the potential to be the complete midfielder. He's a modern midfield player."

But Tchouameni isn't taking any notice of the speculation with his sole focus on Monaco who he insists is a "great" club. He told Monaco's official website: "When I start something, I try to be the best I can be. I aspire to be one of the best players in Europe in my position. So I work every day to achieve this goal. This involves working at home or at the club, apart from the team’s training sessions.

Who should Manchester United sign this summer? Comment below

"We are lucky here at AS Monaco to have very good infrastructure with the performance center, which allows us all to optimize our training. For example, I’m just coming out of a core training session with the club’s physical trainer.

"These are things I try to do regularly, especially for injury prevention. Today I am getting through matches without having any physical issues, so that means that I am working well on the side, with the physiotherapists, and the staff, in particular to avoid muscular problems. At home I also have a gym, and I sometimes put in a few more sessions, like last night, always under the direction of the team’s staff.

"Monaco are a very big French club with a wonderful history! Very great players have played here.. When I was at Bordeaux and heard of the club’s interest in me, I did not hesitate for a second to come here. I knew it could help me progress, with top facilities, and being a top project for young players. So today I am very happy to be part of this great club."
