Chelsea's captain Cesar Azpilicueta has claimed that the club 'doesn't like' him after what they did in the aftermath of FIFA Club World Cup ahead of Crystal Palace this weekend.
Azpilicueta, 32, is the first ever player in the club's history who can claim that they won it all after the Blues defeated Palmeiras 2-1 after extra-time courtesy of Kai Havertz and brilliant mind games from the defender in question leading up to the goal.
Prior to the Club World Cup, all the talk on the Spaniard revolved around his future with a key Barcelona decision looming as the end of his Blues deal approaches.
"I'm not going to speak about my future," he said ahead of Al Hilal.
"We are one day before the semi-final of the tournament. Of course, I arrived in the summer of 2012 and I didn't have kids. My kids were born in London and you know how I feel about Chelsea. But I am not going to comment on my future."
The latest as per Fabrizio Romano still portrays the situation as still up in the air: 'Barcelona have offered César Azpilicueta a two year deal with option to extend for a further season. Talks started in December but Barça are still waiting for Azpilicueta to make final decision.
'Chelsea hope for Azpi to stay but still no communication on player side.'
And despite the lack of clarity, Petr Cech was delighted to see such a humble football achieve a feet not even John Terry and other legends could claim.
"Azpi has now won everything, and that is an amazing achievement. All the credit goes to him," Cech told Chelsea’s official website.
"When he arrived in 2012, he came first to compete for his spot. He had a long-term injury the year before, so he had had a difficult time before he came to us. He had to start from scratch fighting for his place.
"He is one of those players who never disappoints you. He works hard, he does everything. He is an honest player on the pitch, and off the pitch he works hard.
"You know you can rely on him in any situation. That is the key to his success. No matter which manager was in charge, they all knew they could count on him, his attitude, and his qualities.
"Now he has the huge reward of lifting these trophies as a captain."
Moving on ahead to Crystal Palace and whilst the celebrations from the CWC die down ahead of a crucial month for the west Londoners, it seems as though the club's socials have already jokingly forgotten Azpilicueta's existence ahead of his imminent summer departure to Catalunya.
The 450+ appearance maker was left out of a picture that was taken on the Mohammed Bin Zayed pitch with all of his Spanish compatriots and the club didn't recognise that Chelsea's number 28 was missing from the photo which included Saul Niguez, Marcos Alonso and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Chelsea captioned this specific photo as the 'Spanish connection!' [followed by a Spain flag emoji].
Feeling very left out in this situation, the 32-year-old sent his four word message to whoever runs the the Blues' Instagram account claiming that the 'Admin doesn't like me.'
To which, the club replied with a crying emoji face and the words: "Our captain.... We [Blue heart emoji]."
All these fun and games were light hearted but what will not be of the same nature is the heavily anticipated return to domestic top flight action this weekend as Crystal Palace look to bring the new Champions of the World back down to reality.
