A BT customer has shared how certain benefits claimants can get their "bill massively reduced".
People who claim benefits such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, or Jobseeker’s Allowance may be able to get BT Home Essentials. This is the provider's low-cost broadband and phone plan, and includes fibre broadband from £15 per month with average speeds of 67Mb.
Taking to Facebook to reveal more information about the deal, the customer wrote: "If you're with BT and on a low income, you can get your bill massively reduced! They will check to see if you qualify by checking you're on universal credit.

"They do this whilst you're on the phone, have your national insurance number to hand. My £39.99 a month charge have been reduced to £15 a month which includes free calls to landlines and mobile phone numbers.
"I don't have movies or sports so not sure how it will affect that but give them a ring peeps, could save yourself some much needed money!"
The post has since received over 850 likes and more than 1,000 comments. BT customers and benefits claimants were quick to share their thoughts on the deal.
One wrote: "I have done this. It's a big difference for me."
A second agreed: "Every little helps. Works out I get fiver of my bill."
"The internet is great btw," shared a third.
"Thanks hun," commented a fourth, while a fifth echoed: "I've got that hun. Brilliant."
Another satisfied customer meanwhile stated: "I got mine down to £20.00pm. Only paying 8.08 this month so happy."
