"If you come across a page/post on Facebook that you think might be fake, please report it by going to the page, tapping *** from the top right, selecting ‘Find support or report page’ and then selecting ‘Scams and Fake Pages’."

News of the scam comes just weeks after the Nottinghamshire-headquartered Center Parcs, which has a site at Sherwood Pines, reversed its decision to kick guests out on the day of the Queen's funeral.

The company initially announced its holiday villages would be closing for the bank holiday on Monday, September 19 - meaning guests booked in to stay on the Monday in question, and past this date, would have to leave and then return.

However, after widespread criticism, Center Parcs announced a U-turn - and visitors at its five sites, including in Sherwood Forest, were abled to stay on the bank holiday Monday but not use many facilities.
