Center Parcs makes major change with more families now able to book holidays

Center Parcs has made a significant change to its booking requirements, meaning that many more families will now have the option to book a getaway to one of its forest villages.

For the first time, the popular holiday camp company has lowered its booking age requirement from 21 to 18 across its sites - just in time for the summer holiday season. The change means that younger families will now be able to enjoy a Center Parcs getaway without being accompanied by an older adult.

A Center Parcs spokesperson told The Mirror: "Center Parcs is a family short break destination, and we recognise that all families are different. As part of a regular review of our terms and conditions we made the change to ensure that younger families are also able to make special memories in our safe forest environment."

There are five Center Parcs locations across the UK, as well as a site in Ireland and further forest villages in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. The closest Center Parcs to the North East is in Whinfell Forest in Cumbria, located on the edge of the Lake District, just under two hours' drive from Newcastle city centre.

The rest of the villages can be found further south in Nottinghamshire's Sherwood Forest, Elveden Forest in Suffolk, Woburn Forest in Bedfordshire, and Longleat Forest in Wiltshire. Short stay prices for the summer holidays start from £849 for a three-night lodge stay in Cumbria, while autumn breaks are currently prices from £519 for a four-night lodge stay in Whinfell Forest.

There's also a range of bookable indoor and outdoor activities at each site for families to enjoy, from classes for babies and young children to sports and workshops for older kids and adults. You can see a selection of what's on at Whinfell Forest on the Center Parcs website as well as a price list, with activities ranging from £5.50 for a Treasure Trail or Gym Pass to £47.50 for a Quad Bike Safari.
